The firm has prepared and prosecuted dozens of patent applications at the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has handled foreign patent filings and examinations in patent offices around the world.

Scott has been specializing in patent and IP law since law school. Scott has over a decade of experience at a large IP specialty law firm in Chicago including years at a patent litigator before shifting focus to patent prosecution. Scott has served clients in the past in technical areas including hard drives, breed-and-burn nuclear reactors, a national pharmacy chain, a major US tech company, e-commerce retailers, and a regional internet service provider.

Before legal education, Scott was a graphics engineer at ATI Research (now AMD, Inc.) supporting teams implementing graphics APIs on the Radeon graphics card hardware and GPUs. Scott's undergradute degree is in Mathematics, with a focus on geometry and computer science.
